1985	Fondation: Société Européenne des Satellites (SES) Europe's first private satellite operator
5.2.1989	Satellite ASTRA 1A
	Satellites manufacturers: So far these three companies have build ASTRA satellites: Boeing Satellite Systems (formerly Hughes Space and Communications) built ASTRA 1C–1H, ASTRA 2A, ASTRA 2C–2D, ASTRA 3A, SIRIUS 3 and SIRIUS 1 EADS Astrium (formerly Matra Marconi Space) built ASTRA 2B and ASTRA 1M, and is currently building ASTRA 3B Lockheed Martin built ASTRA 1A-B and ASTRA 1KR, ASTRA 1L and ASTRA 4A Thales Alenia Space (formerly Aerospatiale) built ASTRA 5A Launch companies: Two companies have launched ASTRA satellites: Arianespace International Launch Services (ILS).

	Mr. Bausch is a Luxembourg citizen, he is the President and Chief Executive Officer of SES since July 2001. SES is a world-leading telecommunications satellite operator, with a global fleet of more than 40 geostationary satellites.
